I didn’t buy this laundromat because it was in great shape. When I took over, only 17 of 39 machines worked. In the first two months, I installed 16 new ones. We’re now at 27 fully operational units out of a rebuilt total of 32, and we’re not done.

The machines were never the whole point.

Clean clothes carry a kind of dignity that’s easy to overlook. A good meal makes you feel good for an hour. Clean clothes change how you walk into a room. That matters to me, and I think it matters here.

I bought Jeffersons Wash Bowls because this neighborhood deserves a laundromat worth coming back to. I’m building that.
